Guardianships

Guardianship and Conservatorship in Virginia

Because of developmental disabilities some individuals may require a guardian when they turn 18. A guardian is a court appointed decision maker for personal and healthcare decisions on behalf of an incapacitated individual. Baskin Jackson has helped many parents, and other family members obtain guardianship in a timely and least stressful manner.  A conservator is appointed to manage that person's finances and property. A conservator may be needed because of a sudden injury or illness and there are no other means to manage and protect the person's property.  Baskin Jackson has years of experience in Guardianship and Conservatorship matters.

Ongoing Responsibilities of Guardians and Conservators

After a guardian or conservator is appointed, they must comply with ongoing court requirements. This may include filing reports, providing updates, and ensuring that decisions are made in the best interests of the individual under their care. Baskin Jackson can continue to advise and support the court appointed Guardian and Conservator.
